December 2019 Thesis + Capstone Exhibition

The Textile Design department invites you to our Thesis and Capstone Exhibition at The Design Center on Friday, Dec 13th from 4-7pm. We are excited and proud to showcase the work of Undergraduate students Ryan Wojciechowicz, Julia Ableson, Julianna Palmer, and Neilah Lizwelicha, and Graduate students Lauren Brauninger, Emily Reppert, Jiyoung Park, and Ben Jones.

These students have impressed us with their vision, innovation, and dedication to their studies and creative problem-solving. Join us in celebrating their hard work and thoughtful textile design.

Refreshments and beautiful designs will be served.

The Design Center at Philadelphia University

The Design Center has a new website with daily updates!

The Bachelors of Science in Textile Design and Masters of Science in Textile Design programs provide integration and balance between creative design and technology. In the undergraduate program, students explore weaving, knitting and printing, with the opportunity for advanced course work in the areas of their choice. Students in the graduate program are required to specialize in one area (knit, weave or print), but are encouraged to incorporate the other areas of textile design through their foundation courses, elective or design studio work.

Design research is stressed from the beginning of the programs. Being in the a major city is a great resource as is The Design Center at Jefferson with its textile collection from around the world.
