Jackie Kilmartin, Alumna and adjunct professor, participates in Craft Fairs in Philadelphia & Baltimore

Jackie Kilmartin, graduate of M.S. Textile Design program will be showing her knitwear collections at the Clover Winter Market, 23rd Street Armory in Philadelphia on January 27th, and the Baltimore American Craft Council Show, Feb 22nd - 24th at the convention center.

Design Sponge Scholarship Winner

Design Sponge has an annual scholarship for for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students in the field of art and design. For the 2012 year, one of our Textile Design undergraduate students won 1st place! Congratulations to Dominique Savidge! Keep up the good work!

The Bachelors of Science in Textile Design and Masters of Science in Textile Design programs provide integration and balance between creative design and technology. In the undergraduate program, students explore weaving, knitting and printing, with the opportunity for advanced course work in the areas of their choice. Students in the graduate program are required to specialize in one area (knit, weave or print), but are encouraged to incorporate the other areas of textile design through their foundation courses, elective or design studio work.

Design research is stressed from the beginning of the programs. Being in the a major city is a great resource as is The Design Center at Jefferson with its textile collection from around the world.
