Textiles and Fungi! The Foragers: Art Gallery Opening at the Schuylkill Center

Thursday, January 28th from 6-8pm at the Schuylkill Center!

an exploration of wild mushrooms in photography and crochet

On display will be the work of husband and wife duo, Melissa Maddonni Haims and Josh Haims. "Josh’s photographs and Melissa’s crocheted yarn sculptures investigate the experience of immersion in the forest and nature’s ability to create something beautiful out of almost nothing."

Krochet Kids Kickstarter

A kickstarter that helps empower women in Lima, Peru - The product for pledges will be hand crocheted hats from the women in Peru, which will be available in various colors and designs from a fine alpaca/acrylic yarn blend, signed by the maker!

The Bachelors of Science in Textile Design and Masters of Science in Textile Design programs provide integration and balance between creative design and technology. In the undergraduate program, students explore weaving, knitting and printing, with the opportunity for advanced course work in the areas of their choice. Students in the graduate program are required to specialize in one area (knit, weave or print), but are encouraged to incorporate the other areas of textile design through their foundation courses, elective or design studio work.

Design research is stressed from the beginning of the programs. Being in the a major city is a great resource as is The Design Center at Jefferson with its textile collection from around the world.
